What we collect

Account data — your email address, display name, and (for creators) studio name and bio.
Age confirmation — at sign-up we confirm you are 13 or older. We keep only a yes/no flag, never your date of birth.
Content you publish — titles, media files, and synopses you upload for review.
Engagement signals — views, completions, saves, reactions, and “not for me” events. These power the Taste Engine ranking and, for subscribers, the creator revenue-share calculation.
A device identifier derived from your IP address — when you are signed out, we convert your IP address into a scrambled code so the same person is not counted twice for the same film on the same day. We store only the scrambled code, never your IP address, and the code cannot be turned back into one. It is used solely to keep rankings honest.
Subscription state — whether you have an active subscription (via Apple or Google Play / our billing processor). We never see or store your card details.
Session data — a login token tied to your account.
Push notification token — if you allow notifications, a device push token so we can deliver alerts (new followers, when your post is approved). It is used only to send you notifications, never for tracking.

If you report content to us

The Report content form works without an account, so we may hold information about someone who is not a member. We keep what you send — the category, any link, your description, and the contact address if you give one — only to review the report, act on it, and reply to you. Giving a contact address is optional; without one we will still act on the report, but cannot write back. We do not use it for anything else, and we never sell it. Reports are retained while the matter is open and for a reasonable period afterwards as a record of what we did and why. Where the law requires us to preserve material and report it to the authorities — in particular anything involving a minor — we do that, and those legal obligations override any deletion request.

How long we keep data

We keep your account data and content for as long as your account is active, and remove them when you delete your account. The append-only safety audit and a keyed, non-reversible account digest may retain moderation counts after deletion solely to prevent repeat abuse or infringement through delete-and-rejoin; they do not retain your email or password. Short operational logs are kept only briefly for security and troubleshooting.

What we don’t do

No advertising, no ad SDKs, no cross-app tracking. We do not ask for tracking permission because we don’t track you.
We never sell or rent your data.
No behavioral profiling beyond ranking the catalog you browse.

Processors we use

Our servers and database are hosted on Fly.io. Subscription verification is handled by our app-store billing processor (RevenueCat) and by Apple or Google Play for in-app purchases. Automated content screening is performed by Anthropic — when you submit a film, we send its cover image, a few still frames sampled from the video, and the title and synopsis to Anthropic’s API so it can be checked against our Community Guidelines before it publishes. Anthropic processes this only to return a screening decision and does not use it to train models. These providers process data only to run the service.

Deleting your data

You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Danger zone in the app. Deletion permanently removes your account, email, password, published work, media, reactions, and follows, subject only to the limited safety-enforcement record described above.

Children

Dream is not directed to children under 13, and registration is age-gated. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.
